[comp.sys.atari.st] More fonts for Publishing Partner

FXDDR@ALASKA.BITNET (10/30/87)

The Font Factory has finally come out with disk #5, which includes
printer fonts for Symbols and Dingbats. They've also come out with
disk #6, which has all the screen fonts (no printer fonts) for all of
the Laserwriter+ fonts, so people with Laserwriters don't have to buy
all five font disks at about $30 each to get to the fonts.
The bad news is that they only have the font characters with codes
32-126 decimal, and that leaves out a lot of important symbols in the
Symbol font. Specifically, what you get is the entire upper and lowercase
Greek alphabet, there-exists, therefore (3 dots), congruent, for-every,
perpendicular, for-all, and less-than-equal. What you don't get: multi-
part integral, {[()]}, partial diff, del, and a lot of other extremely
important characters that are in the Laserwriter Symbol font. Looks
like somebody with a lot of time needs to come out with an "extended"
Symbol printer font.
The fonts add a lot of power to Publishing Partner, but dot matrix and
HP Laserjets still won't have what it takes to do serious math/tech
writing. Laserwriter users can use the fixes I posted previously to get
technical.
