This is a basenote to find out what kind of response there would be from atari users about buying a scanner for desktop publishing. To digress a moment a scanner is a device which will digitize a document (book,magazine,etc..) and load onto a hard disc as an image. This image then can be treated as a picture in desktop publishing or run through an optical character recognizer (OCR) which would convert image to ASCII representation and thus used by word processors. My need is to discover building the necessary hardware and software drivers myself for the ScanJet that HP makes. In other words is it worth my time if only three people want it or are there thousands of you out there. This project in no way is connected to my work and will be doing it alone so keep in mind the resource limitation. Of course should you desire to let Atari now about your desires or HP dealers you never know where this could go. Thanks for reading, Roydan Tomlinson
