Someone overhere got some problems with the MFP chip in his Atari. It does not recognize the busy signal from the printer port. The problem resides somewere inside the chip. According to the available info a 68901 MFP is used, but... in his Atari a SC87898 is mounted.According to MOTOROLA who produced the chip, it is a modified 68901 owned by Atari.
