[comp.sys.atari.st] The ACSI interface

crash@calgary.UUCP (Glen ) (11/28/87)

I believe I've answered my questions about the 16 byte transfers.
I was in a very narrow scope, thinking that the dma port was only for
hard disks at the time of my panic. Of course, anything can attach to it,
and you must send at least 16 bytes or multiples there of.

All this was in reference to the external ramdisk. Work is progressing,
the first version will only support the atari interface. If it proves popular
I'll do a full SCSI implementation. Confirmed details of the project are:

o The custom chip will support upto 16meg
o The first prototype circuit boards will support
upto 2 meg using 256K x 1. (there cheap and easy to
                 get)
o The circuit board will have buffers for the bus

I intend to market this at the hobbyist level first. Thus if you just want
the chip (and docs) you can get it. WHEN??? SPRING hopefully. My
first priority is my thesis!
