Subject: Filetransfer between Atari and Amiga computers To: comp-sys-atari-st@ucbvax.berkeley.edu Keywords: Atari, Amiga, Filetransfer Hi Everyone! I've got the following problem, and I was wondering if anyone out there could help me out. My brother owns an Amiga 1000 computer. I work at the University of Amsterdam, where we have 4 Atari computers. Of course, I would like to know if there are programs available in order to enable me to read Atari formatted disks on our Amiga computer at home, and Amiga formatted disks on the Atari's. Does anyone know the whereabouts of such programs (preferably on public domain software) and how to obtain them? Also are there programs for the Atari that 'simulate' an Amiga? There is such a program for the Amiga (to simulate an Atari) :STEmulator. Please send any Info to : U00254 @ HASARA5.BITNET and not to the sender of this posting. It's not easy for me to obtain the comp.sys.atari postings, so e-mail would be preferred. Many thanks, Jacqueline (U00254 @ HASARA5.BITNET) Astronomical Institute, University of Amsterdam The Netherlands

But just to make sure no misunderstandings come up (like the time a month ago when everyone wanted the ST Amiga emulator mailed to them) --- The Amiga STEmulator is a joke, much like the ST Amiga emulator. It puts up a "GEM" desktop, and whenever you click on anything, it puts up the 'bomb' symbols. It certainly does NOT emulate anything useful! -- Michael J. There is a program for the Amiga called Dos2Dos which allows the Amiga to read IBM format disks (which just happens to be the Atari format). Its about as user friendly as an angry porcupine, but i use it to copy programs (source) from my Amiga to my ST and back. -- Laissez les bons temps rouler - Queen Ida ...{decwrl|ucbvax}!imagen!atari!daisy!turner (James M.
