[comp.sys.atari.st] CHMOD F_ATTRIB

neil@cs.hw.ac.uk (Neil Forsyth) (12/16/87)

Here are some weird things I found out while playing about with
CHMOD/F_ATTRIB (GEMDOS $43)

 1. The PEXEC (GEMDOS $4B)function will not execute a file with its
    hidden(bit 1) and/or system(bit 2) attribute set.

 2. If a file is hidden/system it does not show up on the desktop windows
but if it's also read only then it will show up.

 3. A file can be changed into a directory or volume label but can't be changed
    back again.

Comments anyone ...
