OK... after a year of thinking about which computer to buy I've finally decided to go for an Atari ST. What I basically want to know is which one to get. I will be using the computer mostly for MIDI applications in my home studio. I would appreciate it if someone can explain the major differences between the 520, 1040, and Mega ST's, and what I should expect to pay for each. I am also tying to decide whether a monochrome or color system would better suit my needs (I would like to avoid the eye strain of a color monitor, but I hear that certain programs will not run on a monochrome system). For those of you who are actually using the ST for MIDI stuff, I would appreciate any comments (good and bad) on the various sequencing and librarian programs that are available. Also any general comments on the Atari and MIDI would be helpful.
