If PARK tries to reopen the desktop, what then is the difference between PARK and SHIP that is supplied by Atari? On my SH204 I found that SHIP seemed to struggle trying to reopen the desktop, but PARK seems to lock everything up with no apparent struggle. Am I really doing something wrong? Why doesn't PARK or some similar program just hang in an infinite loop until I turn the machine off? Why doesn't the head lock mechanism disable the head drive motor so that the software can try to reopen the desktop all it wants without harm to the hardware?
