[comp.sys.atari.st] Info about buying an Atari 520ST-FM system.

Well, this is my first posting to a newsgroup so be patient. I am a student
at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. (Where?) and I have a
dilemma on my hands.....

I was about to trade in my 800XL, and cassette drive (uck!) for a new 130XE
and then the AD CAUGHT MY EYE, "NEW 520ST-FM Monochrome system, $299.00 with
trade in of a 1050 disk drive, or $159.00 with the addidional trade in of
a 800XL" My dilemma, I have a complete 800 system (modem printer the works)
but now I see this ad, and am tempted to dump the whole kit and caboodle for
a 520ST-FM system.

Recommendations? My friends and I think this is a very good deal, but I
would appreciate the input of 'old AtariST' owners to let me know how they
feel about this deal...by the by, the place is in Colorado, and I would
have to ship them my stuff, (insured of course!) and they would charge
for shipping me their stuff, (by weight) so lemme know what you guys think,
and it will (maybe) salve my consience, and convince me to buy the 520ST-FM
(with built in drive, I like this feature!) and dump my old workhorse...
though, I have only had my 800XL for 2 years.

                         Well, thanks for listening!
