Are the any people from or near PELL (The home of STadel) on the net? If so, some people here in Ottawa are just starting to experiment with STadel V3.0c. We would like to get a copy of any news updates since 'citanews 687', a copy of the alternate helpfiles mentioned in one of the citanews files, and a copy of any utilities that have been developed (excluding: Clog; Lexpand, Logedit; Popular; and Citsh). We have a copy of Expand, with no .docs and have the .DOCs for but do not have: Recoverl; ctdlchng; and Citar. If you can work out a path from the addresses below, I'll send copies of any goodies that you can send to the archives at CANADA01. Question: What are people using networking for? Clearly, international networking is wonderful! But in a typical local calling area of about 1/2 a million people, what does networking do that 'standard' BBSs do not? *NOTE* Please, I am not trying to be provocative. I would really like to know what is being done, not start a flame war. I just have not thought of an application in a local area. Thank you in advance. /JT John Turnbull, NetNorth: 051332@uottawa 30 Somerset Ave, BITNET: 051332@uottawa Dept. of Biology, ARPAnet: 051332%uottawa.bitnet@wiscvm.wisc.edu Univ. of Ottawa, UUCP: ...!psuvax1!051332%uottawa.BITNET Ottawa, Ontario, JANET: 051332%uottawa@rl.earn CANADA, K1N 6N5. I've heard that occasionally some messages about STadel fly across the net. Well, Pell is now roomsharing comp.sys.atari.st with the net, so I'll be able to actually answer some questions about the s/w here. My, you usenet people like the long headers and footers on your messages, don't you? -orc -david parsons -ihnp4!pell!orc
