Regarding the 'multitasking-war' that just calmed down I think it's time to put the whole thing on the feet again. David Beckemeyer asks about our opinions concerning a PD-RTX and the problem with the loss of profits out of the product. I say: don't give it away for free. Take a closer look: people who *really* have to use a multitasking kernel (like me) can easily afford a few bucks (look at the ads to see that it's really a bargain) because they are usually making money out of it. And people who are *really* interested in such systems and want to know how to use them could spent the money as easily. So it's not a problem of money at all. But that's not the main point. What do those people working with multitasking, communicating, interrupt-driven processes need most? Obviously they need support. Just around these days I had some problems with RTX and asked David. Although the docs say that he doesn't have the time to give such a moderatly priced product extensive support, he answered instantly and gave all the re- quested information. I herewith vote for a well behaved, carefully documented, regularely updated, adequately supported and decently priced product. - Klaus.
