Can I piggy back another set of 256K chips in my 1040 ST? I opened it up, there seems to be plenty of room (see below for sad story). In my opinion, $120 is FAR to much for one of those kits with no RAM chips. Has anyone tried this? If so, how do I go about wiring the new bank of chips in? I am not afraid to solder and cut, but my hardware knowledge is not extensive enough to know WHAT to solder and cut. Any information or pointers to information would be much appreciated. Now for a sad story: I opened up the ST's case and removed the RF sheild. Then I realized I forgot to ground myself! OH SH**! It was too late... when I powered up again, all I got were green and white stripes on the monitor. So, in an attempt to see if I could save myself some money, I have spent more. I'll be talking to my dealer today to assess the damage. P.S. If this is getting out there, please let me know. I'm not sure if all of my postings and mail are getting out. -- Ron DeBlock KA2IKT 213 River Dr. ...!rutgers!galaxy!argus Lk Hiawatha, NJ 07034 (201) 316-6807 "NECKTIES MAKE MEN STUPID" - Weekly World News headline
