I have successfully fixed my Chinese mouse so that it performs like a
Japanese one. Recall that someone had said that his mouse pointer did
not accurately reflect mouse position changes (on his Chinese mouse).
I had a similar problem which I traced to the idle roller assembly being
loose. Unfortunately, it is loose by design. However, by stuffing
tissue paper into the spaces between the roller arm and the roller housing
I was able to get correct roller action. My mouse is now even smoother
than my old Japanese one.
Alternate solution: buy a mouse from another vendor...I don't think Atari
has figured out how to make these things yet.
