BEWARE! The ICD Hard Disk Driver has a serious problem. It trashes the A6 register, which is supposed to be non-volatile. The error first showed up when we discovered that the Beckemeyer Development Hard Disk Accelerator used with the ICD drivers causes a system crash. This error can also affect any program that uses the "hard-disk" I/O vector at $476 (ram disks, cachers, networks, etc). The version of ICD Drivers that has this bug is 1.6. Until they fix it, please DO NOT USE caching, RAM disks, or any other program that may use the disk I/O vectors. The Supra, Astra, Atari, and BMS hard disk drivers do not have this bug, and all will probably work with the ICD host adapter. ICD users: I recommend using one of these other driver programs until ICD fixes their drivers. -- David Beckemeyer | "To understand ranch lingo all yuh Beckemeyer Development Tools | have to do is to know in advance what 478 Santa Clara Ave, Oakland, CA 94610 | the other feller means an' then pay UUCP: ...!ihnp4!hoptoad!bdt!david | no attention to what he says"
