[comp.sys.atari.st] backing up harddisks

cyliax@ea.ecn.purdue.edu (Ingo Cyliax) (02/22/88)

Does anyone out there know of any good backup utilities ? I'm looking
for something like tar/cpio/dump that can handle dumping to multivolume
floppies.

				Thanks,

There are versions of tar and untar posted on GENIE. They claim to be
compatible with Unix tar, but I have not been able to verify this.

Also Beckemeyer Development sells a hard disk backup utility that can do
volume backups to floppy.

Beckemeyers Hard Disk Toolkit does this - It can back up files much, much,
larger than one floppy disk, and can handle volumes, or trees, etc. You
should look into it if you need this type of functionality.
