Has anyone had any success using Automatic File Distribution (AFD) or File Update Information (FUI) with the files at canada01? I would like to start using Uniterm (since it seems it has finally surpased FLASH by leaps and bounds) and given the prolific nature of Simon I would like to be automatically informed when a new version is posted to the canada01 archives. The listserver @ canada01 can automatically send you updates when a file is 'updated' in the prog-a16 archive, or it can just send you mail telling you that the file has been updated. However, I have noticed that some people just create a new entry in the library whenever a new version arrives and that undermines this process (since you must sign-up for particular 'prog-a16 xx-xxxxx'). If we can get some consistency in our submissions to these archives we can expedite the distributions of these wonderful tools into the ST Community. [How much mail have you seen from people asking about the latest version of Uniterm? "Is it out?", "What is the latest version number?", "Where can I get it?", ...] For more information on this listserver function, get Document Number U01-006-B-0 (or some later version) by sending the one line message "Info AFD" to listserv@canada01.bitnet. cheers, -chip +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Chip Roberson ARPANET: csrobe@icase.arpa | |1105 London Company Way BITNET: $csrobe@wmmvs.bitnet | |Williamsburg, VA 23185 UUCP: ...!uunet!pyrdc!gmu90x!wmcs!csrobe| +-------------------------------------------------------------------------+ "One world is enough, for all of us..." - The Police.
