:-( I've finally submit to passing comment on pirates.

Well, we here at UW have just had a RCMP scare and/or raid. All
the rumors are not in. Apparently rumor had it that the RCMP raided
Guelph, Mac, Western for illegal software on all campus buildings
including residences. UW expected to be hit next. I've never seen
a rumor/fact spread so fast. And the next 2/3 days everyone with
or without a computer hid every piece of software they had (even if
it was legal, no knowing what the RCMP might do :) Some even packed
up their machines and took them to friends homes off campus.

Another rumor said that since UW is so computer orientated we should
have been hit first but that some big multi-national companies ate
some Trinidad Hot Sauce and breathed really hard in order not to
disturb the "natural order of things".

Well. The end affect was that piracy ran and hide. *fast*. Just to
be safe. But it will return I'm certain. I don't see what any debate
here will do because I doubt if government legal bodies bother to
monitor the sentiment of the people behind the industry on their own
turf in netland. So can we let this debate on copyright die and block
out the cross postings some how? This is a development / tech group.
Take the moral issues to rec.humor or talk.weird or where ever else
and lets us do what we do best - write software.
