This is directed to Simon Poole, but since my last attempt to write
him directly didn't seem to work, and since others may have a similar
question, I decided to post here.
I have a friend who's considering using his ST in conjunction with
UniTerm in a professional setting (does aeronautical engineering work).
He wants to be able to save plots he gets from the local mainframe,
in Tektronix mode, to a metafile. His goal is to translate the metafiles
he generates into postscript (for which he has already acquired a
utility), and then dump them to an Apple laser printer.
His problem is that his machine locks up when he selects the
'dump to metafile' command. The UniTerm documentation doesn't say
much about using the dump to metafile feature, but he was able to
figure out that GDOS needs to be loaded. Beyond that, he has two
questions that he wanted me to post:
1) How DOES one go about capturing a Tektronix plot to a metafile
(CAN one do this?)?
2) Does UniTerm create standard GEM metafiles (to complement the
metafile to postscript conversion utility he already has)?
Simon, thanks a bunch for a great product... If you could clear up
these questions, I think you'd find at least one more satisfied user!
