We have 20 Berkeley systems running (without any difficulties) here this part of Holland and one of the SCSI interface boards is model ACB4010 i.s.o. model ACB4000. We contacted Adaptec but they could not give us an answer with respect to any difference between the mentioned models. I know that a model ACB4070 exists that incorporates RLL.Any pointers ? The following is a benchmark (ref: 68000-er magazine April 88) using the Berkeley boards: Harddisk used : Olivetti XM 5210/2 (4 partitionings 3-3-2-2) Formatted with HDX using AHDI driver (Atari software) Test1 : 6.740 sec Test2 : 88.315 sec Test3 : 6.855 sec Test4 : 2.245 sec Formatted with BMSINIT using INSTALL driver (Berkeley software) Test1 : 6.690 sec Test2 : 88.315 sec Test3 : 5.325 sec Test4 : 2.240 sec Formatted with ICDFMT using ICDBOOT driver (ICD software) Test1 : 8.355 sec Test2 : 88.315 sec Test3 : 9.490 sec Test4 : 3.160 sec Test1: read 100 times first 50 sectors on one partitioning as one block Test2: read 100 times first 50 sectors (each sector) Test3: open 50 files (test1....test50) read 1 sector between each file operation on another partitioning. Test4: delete all 50 files -Peter-
