[comp.sys.atari.st] booting from a hard drive? what? this is possible?

miken@hcr.UUCP (Mike Nemeth) (05/01/88)

okay, just got my spiffy new supra 20M HD from the UofT. on sale yet!
aha, now i understand the concept "service after sale", or rather the
LACK thereof. came complete with NO documentation and apparently missing
a prg to go along with the resource file "suputil.rsc". if anyone out there
has this file, can you forward me a copy, as the UofT refuses to return
telephone calls.

now, onto the matter at hand. i've heard that it's possible to boot from
the HD. is this true? but how, he wails in total bewilderment, how, how?
details, details, please send details!

Yes, its easy to boot from the hard drive. You need to use the SUPUTL.PRG and choose ENABLE when in the boot enable part.

Call Supra tech support at (503) 967-9081 or write Supra Corporation, 1133 Commercial Way, Albany, OR 97321. They can get you a manual and the software to run the drive utilities. I don't know if you will have to pay for it or not (depends on how you got the drive).
