I am looking for information about OCR-products for reading standard
typewritten documents (business mail etc.).
Primarily:
-Complete OCR's. Manufactured by? Experiences? Limitations? Pricing?
-OCR software: Host system? Delivered by? Experiences?
Limitations? Pricing?
-Scanner products? HW/SW-interface to what systems?
Experiences? Limitations? Pricing?
Until now, I have found the following products:
Complete OCR's: Kurzweil,Hendrix,Totec,Dest,Oberon,Caere.
Scanners (with OCR-SW): Dest,Laserfax,Datacopy,EIT.
Scanners: Microtek,Thunderware.
None of the above mentioned products are intended for the UNIX-market
(except the general-purpose complete OCR's, of course).
