[comp.sys.atari.st] Supra Clock!

#JMKLAS@WMMVS.BITNET (05/24/88)

I purchased a Supra 20 MB hard drive about three weeks ago and was very
happy to find a couple of extra features that I didn't have to pay for...
Several friends of mine bought Supra 20's a year ago. One of them included
an extra port on the back, the other's didn't. To make a long story short,
mine had two ports on the back (don't know what they're for -- Supra
documentation hasn't been updated recently), and a battery backed-up
clock! I'd like to commend Supra for continuing to add features to their
products without charging extra!

To get to the point, the programs that are included on the utilities disk
for accessing the clock do not work (at least not as expected). SUPCLKRD
(to READ the clock only) does not update the system clock at all. SUPCLOCK
(I believe that's the name of it), the clock SETTING program, works just
fine, and WILL set the system clock if the 're-read' time option is used
after setting the clock first. Since the intention of the SUPCLKRD program
is to set the system time from an auto folder, it's very unfortunate that
it has no effect on the system time!

Has anyone else run across this problem and/or contacted Supra about it?
I'd love to be able to use this thing!

Thanks,
<John>
