[comp.sys.atari.st] ARC COMPACTION

Gary_Tate@rubbs1.UUCP (Gary Tate) (05/05/88)

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A COPY OF THE ARC COMPACTION PROGRAM FOR THE ATARI ST?
AND ARE THERE ANY OTHER BOARDS LIKE THIS ONE AROUND, IF SO, WHAT ARE THERE NUMBERS?

 Gary Tate.

Not quite sure where you are calling from.
There is a program called. ARC.TTP and another one called Dcopy. These are
the two main programs for ARC compacting and uncompacting. If you give us
an idea of your location, we can probably pinpoint a few ST based bbs's
for you to call to get either of these programs. For instance in NY state:

Crystal Palace in the Rochester area of NY, 716-458-2638
 Dateline in Brooklyn?, NY, 718-648-0947

In New Jersey, I call :
 AtlantiST 201-286-6189
 Calcom 301-681-8933

To name a couple on the east coast. In the Midwest

 Mhz in Indiana 812-379-1162
 Griffin in Michigan 313-332-5452
 Club II 313-334-8877

Any one of these systems should have this and many other files.
Enjoy the world of the ST.

You can get an ST copy of the 'pkunarc' program from the server at
Lakesys. You can get an index of the files they have by sending an
e-mail message with the following in the message body:

send index from archives.atari

to ...!uwmcsd1!lakesys!netlib. The index includes instructions on how
to request files. I have had good luck with lakesys, but they're only
3 hops away from me.
