My disk drive has recently began acting very oddly - I kept getting a lot of "data on the disk in drive a: has been damaged" alerts so I tried backing up the files and reformatting the disks - most of them came out useless. Figuring dirty heads were the problem, I bought a floppy drive cleaner and gave it a spin. The problem has lessened, but I still occasionally get these alerts. Usually when writing new files they appear. It's driving me nuts not being able to trust my disks. I've had this drive (an SF314) for over a year and it hasn't acted up at all in that time. Has anyone experienced similar problems? Reply E-Mail please, or to the net if you can't reach me. If I get any interesting advice, I'll post a follow up. ----------- Jon Drukman University of Massachusetts BITNET: jsd@umass ARPANET: jsd%umass.bitnet@mitvma.mit.edu "It's not easy making real friends." - peter gabriel
