PLEASE!!! Could someone give me some information about the status of MagicSac??? We would like to buy some of them and need to know a few things in advance: - what about MEGA-STs ? - what about HardDisks ? - what about printer-drivers ? - What about compatibility with MACs (disks and the like...) ? Does somebody know a decent dealer who is willing / able to ship some MagicSacs (professional version, with ROMs, ability to read/write Mac-disks, etc.) to Germany accepting payment via MasterCard? What are reasonable prices for all teh stuff? What about update policy? Any problems known :-) ? Thank you soo much, Klaus. Magic Sac versions 4.52 and later (current version is 5.91, version 6.0 is being worked on) will work on Mega STs and with hard disks. The hard disk code supports multiple hard disks and allows up to 8 Magic Sac partitions. MFS hard disk partitions can be as large as 5 Meg, HFS partitions can be as large as 16 Meg. The suggested retail price of the "Magic Sac" is US $149.95. The only printer drivers are for Epson compatible printers and the Apple Imagewriter. The suggested retail on the Epson printer driver is US $45.00. If you purchase a "Translator One" you can read/write/format Macintosh single and double sided disks using a standard ST disk drive. It works with either internal or external drives. The suggested retail on the "Translator One" is US $279.95. Data Pacific does not currently sell in Europe and I don't believe they have any plans to start selling there. So you would have to rely on the US dealer to supply any support (ie. software upgrades, etc.) instead of getting it directly from Data Pacific. You might have some problems with repairs (if any are needed) since I don't know if Data Pacific would pick up any of the shipping charges outside of the US and Canada. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dan Moore formerly of Data Pacific AT&T Denver ihnp4!druhi!dlm -------------------------------------------------------------------------
