[comp.sys.atari.st] Software info request

Two questions about ST software:

Is there anyone who has ...

  a) informations about a SPSS implementation on ATARI ST ..

  b) informations about an ATARI ST implementation of a DEC
VAX like $ DIFFERENCE utility ..

  Best regards

On the risk of asking a dumb question: what does SPSS stand for ??
(I know of SCCS, RCS, ps, sps, sp, P.S. 8-)

Assuming that the reference is to the same package with which I am familiar,
it's Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. It is available for the
IBM-PC, but I've never heard of it being available for the ST. (The original
version is a mainframe version.)

SPSS is a statistics package for the social sciences, which has the
following features:

	- allows you to mangle your data until you get the results
          you really wanted

        - produce a maximum of hardcopy output with a minimum of data

	- introduces a lot of people to such marvellous things like JCL
          and MVS (there is a IBM-PC version...shudder...)

a completly biased opinion from:

I have seen a program, equivalent to, but not compatible with, SPSS for
the Atari at the Leiden University Psychology department. It looked PD,
but I will check.

Those of us on this side of the Atlantic could benefit from the existence
of such a program. I, at least, could. Please make this information
available since there is a scarcity of statistical software for the ST
here. .
