I've just started trying to use the stiram print spooler and ramdisk accessory that was posted recently. I thought it was going to be the answer to a lot of my problems but I'm having trouble with it, even when it is the only accessory installed. When the default size printer buffer is installed, the printer just prints garbage--I would guess less than one character in ten from the file is printed. I don't really mind about that though, the real problem is that when I remove the 300K ramdisk it hardly ever gives me all the memory back--often just a few hundred miserable bytes or nothing at all. My initial problem was that I could either have a ram disk or free memory but couldn't change easily from one state to the other. With this accessory I frequently end up with neither! Try using the Intersect Ram Disk software (if it is available to you). It is also a desk accesory, but will allow you to remove your ram-disk if needed. I, so far, have never seemed to loose memory when when removing one. The newest version also lets you set up an INTRAM.INF file which will automatically create a ramdisk for you on bootup. Otherwise (if no *.INF file is found) you can size and create your ramdisk whenever you need to, by clicking on the accesory. Hope this helps! Dave Lewis cup.portal.com!Dave Lewis
