Our office is using Ventura (the IBM GEM version) for a newsletter we produce.
I've been asked to be the editor. I'd like to use my ST for the main tasks
of setting up the pages and then transfer the files to Ventura to print on the
laser printer in the office. Are there any Desk Top Publishing packages that
1. Produce Ventura compatible files, or
2. Output standard GEM metafiles (which Ventura can read)?
Also, are there any user groups in the Huntington area (Long Island). I just
moved here from Louisville, KY and would like to find some local groups or BBS
to contact for ST info. And are there any groups connected with the New York
Institute of Technology?

Try Publishing Partner for the Atari ST, from Softlogic Solutions(?). It claims to be able to output a GEM metafile, although I have not yet tried to use this feature. This is a very powerful, relatively inexpensive Desktop Publishing package (~$80). It is worth the money. I am not affiliated with Softlogic.
