[comp.sys.atari.st] UW woes

jrd@STONY-BROOK.SCRC.SYMBOLICS.COM (John R. Dunning) (07/14/88)

After reading all the recent mail about UW on the ST, I decided it
sounded like a cool thing, and was worth trying out. I dug up a server
(from elsewhere on the net) and put it together. (By the way, it seems
to work; if nobody still has source to a working server, I'll pass along
what I've got) I then hauled down the UW for ST, only to find out that
it doesn't work on a color monitor (!) Does anyone know if there's a
mail address for the folk that have been hacking on it? I want to
beg/plead/bludgeon them into stopping this fascism and fixing it to work
in the general case. Or at least release the sources and let me fix it
myself.

humtech@ucschu.UCSC.EDU (Mark Frost) (07/14/88)

Sorry to post this to the net, BUT!

A few weeks ago, I posted a message about having trouble with the
UNIX end of UW that I got from lakesys. I got a number of responses from
people offering to send me their sources. I sent replies to all of them
asking them to send the sources (PLEASE!), but I never got any. I fear that
our mailer is screwed up so maybe my replies didn't get out. My apologies to
those who sent me mail and got no response from me.

----> The gist of this posting? Puh-Leez send me the sources - anbody!!!

Thanx, thanx, thanx, thanx...

I too would like to see a version that would work on the color monitor.
BTW does anyone know why monoware wont work with my harddisk?? Has
anyone tried this? I have a Supra 30m and various accessories and stuff
in the auto folder, but It doesn't even seem to be getting past the
autoboot software for the hard disk.. Any suggestions?

Steve.
