I'm look for a Spreadsheet to run on my ST. It doesn't have to be very fancy, but should have the following features. - GEM interface that works ( I hate arrow keys ) - scientific functions (sin/cos/ln/log/... etc) - being able to read in ascii data from a file into columns and/or rows - being able to dump rows/columns to ascii file - save/restore whole spreadsheet to file I have looked at Vip Professional and didn't like it, because it didn't have a GEM interface and it was a bit expensive. Granted, it has a lot of features, but features don't do me any good, if I don't like the user interface. I wanted to look at Antic's A-Calc Prime, but the dealer's disk was bad. Any help would be appreciated, I'll post a summary of what I find out. -- /* Ingo Cyliax ECN, Electrical Engineering Bldg. * * cyliax@ecn.purdue.edu Purdue University, W. My version of VIP has a GEM interface! Actually, you can get it either way, or both for a low combined price. The version you saw was for migrants from MS-DOS machines. I've been using VIP for a while, and while the screen updating for the GEM version is a bit slow, it is very full-featured. It is 1-2-3 compatible, which I have found very convenient. -- Bill Silvert, Habitat Ecology Division. There is also Masterplan as well and one of the magazines recently covered Spreadsheets fairly completely, RESET I think it was. I think Phasar has the GEM interface as well. Other spreadsheets I have heard about are Logistix Swiftcalc EZ Calc The Switcalc and EZ Calc I believe has GEM interfacing as well. Can't remember if Logistix has it as well, my recall thinks it doesn't. Mind you I have only tried these out in stores and never used any of them in depth. I tend to use the PD one Sheet, currently up to 1.6 I believe. Hope these other names help you. If you're looking for an ST spreadsheet that uses the GEM interface, with some Lotus compatibility, for a reasonable price, check out Analyze. It's .WKS-file compatible, has MUCH better graphics than VIP, and retails for $34.95. Beware, though; it used to sell for $100 before it was picked up by its current distributors (my employers, as a matter of fact) and some stores are still trying to sell it for this price. -- Clif Swinford "This is not a dress rehearsal.
