Quite honestly, I believe that a bulletproof Malloc would be superior even if it meant waiting for new versions. As has been stated, run the old version if it's that important, but I'm a firm believer in the adages "If something is worth doing, it's worth doing well" and "Good things come to he [she] who waits."... It seems that people (developers included) have been kvetching about Malloc enough for Atari to realize they consider it to be a real problem and also would like to have it corrected. It also seems that if they wish to develop and sell products, they will make whatever corrections they deem necessary to do the job... after all, isn't that what they had to do in the first place?
