A few weeks ago, koreth@ssyx.ucsc.edu (Steven Grimm), announced a file server at his machine, "ssyx", and thanked "martin@lakesys.uucp" for the software. I was successful in getting back the "help" file so it seems that the server is now up. Yesterday, someone at a BITNET site wrote to me asking how to reach the server from his site. He is running VMS on a VAX and uses some sort of gateway at CUNYVM. Maybe the problem he is having is only that the server is not up or that the messages are not getting back across the gateway. Could someone who understands the gateway problem post a short message with examples of how to do it? Maybe someone who has actually succeeded in crossing this gateway this could post their experience. It might be that things that work for "lakesys" would work for "ssyx" too, if it is a gateway problem. Your help is appreciated. -- L. J.
