hello netlanders,
the Sept edition of C't just arrived and it seems that Turbo-C for the ST
really ISNT vaporware!
page 133 has a full page add from about Turbo-C:
Heimsoeth Software
GmbH & Co.KG
Lindwurmstrasse 88
D-800 Muenchen 2
Turbo-C for the Atari ST 191,52 DM ( about 100 $ )
Assembler and Debugger 191,52 DM ( ditto )
Turbo-C+Assembler and Debugger 282,72 DM ( about 150 $ )
The ad says that it comes with a shell, various tools, supports GEM,
has IEEE floating point and does 1690 Dhrystones!!!!
If this dhrystone figure is for real then this compiler generates BY FAR the
fastest character/integer code around for the ST. Here's an amusing thought:
with the 16 MHz board from Megabyte, this compiler would do well over THREE
thousand dhrystones -- and thats about as good a rating as you can find for
a MAC-II c compiler! ;-)
