I was wondering, is the Atari decision not to fix malloc in the new ROM cast in stone? If they are reading the net and noting down votes for and against fixing , is there still time for it to be fixed before release? My vote would be for fixing the bugs and releasing an 'Old malloc' program to keep the old sloppy programs happy (MALL100.PRG?). I was musing about the patch using the spare vectors, magic values etc to tell the OS at reset that malloc will be handled by such and such a routine.
