[comp.sys.atari.st] News from the Atari fair at Duesseldorf, West Germany

VBRANDT@DBNUAMA1.BITNET (09/06/88)

There was an Atari fair in Duesseldorf, West Germany. I was there last friday,
and here are some things I heard there:

   - TOS 1.4 will be released in Germany in November and cost about DM 100.-.
You will get: 6 ROMs and a disk with new support software. (Source: an
     Atari Germany representative)

   - Turbo C was sold at the Borland/Heimsoeth booth at a 'special discount':
     150 DM w/o, 230 w/assembler & debugger. They are working on 68881 support
but couldn't tell me when it would me available and how much it would cost
(which is what stopped me from buying it, since I have the 68881 in my
Mega). They must have sold hundreds of copies, though.

   - Atari will market the MadMac/ALN package separately, but not before 1989.

   - There was a Yugoslavian company displaying a hard/software package for STs
and PCs to emulate IBM 3277 terminals directly. I can post details if
     there is sufficient interest.
