Most people seem to be shure, that the video ram will always be 32000 Bytes,

and that resolution in monochrome will always be 640*400. But in fact, there
are quit a lot companies in Europe making video cards with higher resolution.
On the ATARI fair in Duesseldorf, approx. 1/3 of the software houses had
monitors with 1280*960 points running their software - and yes, there is
a GDOS screen driver for this monitor. So please use the informations
you get when using V_OPNVWK or look at the negative LINE-A-variables.

Please, Atari, force the companies to support future video modes!

An emulation similar to the MAC-program 'SteppingOut' (sets video
resolution at startup and scrolls when you move the mouse) will be
published in the november issue of the german magazine 'ST-Magazin'.

I agree. One should avoid messing with video memory if possible. Likewise,
Atari should make this feasable by updating the software blit and draw routines
so that there is no unreasonable slow down from using system graphics calls.
OR get the blitter into all the STs out there :-)
