Hello,
I am having trouble with two games, Obliterator & Leatherneck,
where neither of these will fully boot up and run on my Atari 520.
I have tried each game with four different drives and also adjusted
the speed of one of the drives thinking that the copy-protection
schemes are speed sensitive without any luck. Every other disk
I own (a lot) boots up without any problems. Also, I have seen
both of these disks run on another 520 in a computer store.
My system is an early 520st (July 1985) upgraded to 1meg.
Before I pack up the computer and head for the nearest Atari repair
shop, can anyone answer any of the following:
1. Has anyone else had problems with either Obliterator or
Leatherneck booting on their machine?
2. Are there any of the custom ICs (DMA, GLUE, MMU) different in
the older machines which could cause this?
Any answers, help, clues, guesses, etc. with this problem is apreciated.
