I have not been reading this group for a few months, but when I caught up recently I noticed several new "faces" from Atari, so I'd like to ask a few perennial questions. Perennial in that I have been asking them every six months or so for the last two years or so. 1) What is the status of the second party documentation? In June 1987 the word was "hopefully in the bookstores by Christmas 1987". Since then (roughly mid-1988) I have been reassured that professional quality documentation is still in progress. So: a) Is second party documentation planned or cancelled? b) Is second party documentation in progress? c) When is expected availability of second party documentation? d) Who is the publisher or distributer? 2) What is the status of blitters for 1040STf's? I stopped asking my dealer about this a year ago, when it was clear I knew more about it that they did, and that I didn't know enough to be useful. So: a) Are blitter upgrades for blitter-less 1040's planned or cancelled? b) Are blitter upgrades for blitter-less 1040's in progress? c) When is expected availability of blitter upgrades for blitter-less 1040's? d) What is the procedure for obtaining an upgrade? 3) What is the status of TOS fixes and upgrades for existing ST's (not new ST's or Megas)? I understand that this has actually been in progress for some time, so I'll ask: a) What TOS upgrades are currently available for existing ST's? b) What TOS upgrades are planned for existing ST's? c) When are these upgrades expected? d) What is the procedure for obtaining an upgrade?
