any such thing as a UUCP line-eater!] {(;-)}
As an offshoot of some work done recently for one of my customers, I
have developed an interest in current activity in the animation /
presentation graphics field. I've seen some of the Amiga demos, and
I've discussed the features of the Aegis Animator software with a
friend. Both are very impressive. My work up to now has been in the
Unix and IBM PC world, and I haven't seen anything like this before
(short of SIGGRAPH).
My problem: I don't know where to start looking for further
information.
The software dealers are (understandably) leery of selling manuals
without software, which eliminates one of my usual approaches to a
subject. Are there magazines and journals out there which cover this
kind of material?
The only magazine I've found to date is something called "True
Imaging: Advanced Graphics Applications" from:
Ariel Communications, Inc.
P.O. Box 203550
Austin, Texas 78720-9976
This seems to concentrate on upper-level image processing (the Nov/Dec
issue, at least, is heavy on TARGA board processing). Ideally I would
like to find something at a slightly lower-powered level ("Micro-
Artist: the Amiga and Atari ST Graphics and Animation Journal, with
some occasional IBM PC tidbits").
Suggestions welcomed. If I get enough replies to make it worthwhile, I
will post a summary to the net.
