Hello again everyone, I am posting again about my monitor problems. I am the one who had the monitor "snap" while rebooting the machine. I took the monitor to our repair lab and they said they did only IBM and Compatible repair work. Pretty centralistic world they live in but anyways... I opened up the monitor myself to take a look. I saw no parts that appeared in disarray. I spent about ten minutes looking it over. After doing this I plugged it in with the case off and kept looking. After about two minutes I detected a strange smell. I kept looking. After about 5 minutes I finally saw it...a very very very faint wisp of smoke that was so faint that I was unable to track it down very specifically. What I do know is that it was coming from the right side of the board (as you face the screen) on the main board of the monitor. It may have been coming from the near corner right next to where the on/off/volumen/contrast/brightness knobs are. Other than that I was unable to track it down further. Any ideas on what this problem is would be GREATLY appreciated. - Greg
