In comp.binaries.atary.st a program named VKILLER was just posted. It examines the boot sector and the FAT of a floppy disk for a virus and kills them upon request. It turned out that most of my floppies at home and at work were infected by a so called 'key virus'. This virus, once active, installs itself in the boot sector of every disk a read or write is performed on. The second action this virus performs it to wait for a disk with a certain 'key' in the boot sector. When such a disk comes along it does all the (probably destructive) actions coded on that key disk. - It is said that this virus is spread far about germany and the netherlands. Bottom line: I would highly recommend everyone to use VKILLER. Kill those virusses! Make sure that your system is not infected! Thanks to George Woodside for this important program. Keep on that good work!
