This is just a thought, and I'm in the mood to beat a dead horse. But what would be the problem with a translator application. Atari says (or do they?) that many things could be enhansed and speeded up if only so many programs did not depend on illegal tricks. Well most of the mod's i saw were the removal of time consuming things, and the like. Why not write the code to enhanse TOS, then after you find out what was removed or changed, write a short application with a file selector box. that application could clear out memory and do whatever else the old operating system used to do. It may not be easy (or maybe it is), but it certainly is not impossible. Remember the various translators of old that made an XL operating system into a 400/800 OS?
