[comp.sys.atari.st] 24-pin printer/copy disk 3 1/2-5 1/4

The simple answer to the printer driver question (using P-6 for LQ-500) is to
try it. The Epson is 180dpi vertically, 360dpi horizontally, whereas the NEC
is 360dpi both ways, but the driver may not use this; it may use the 180x180
mode, as the dots are 1/180 inch across, anyway. If this is the case then the
Epson may be able to handle it.

I have fixed up my old BBC 5.25" drive (80trk DS) to run with my ST; this
involved increasing the resistance pulling up the drive select line to Vcc. It
works fine, reading & writing IBM disks and reading, writing & formatting ST
disks. (I have a 40/80 track switch) If your 5.25" disks are in an MS-DOS
lookalike format then there should be no trouble.
