Organization: University of Hawaii Can anyone help me with how to use a "Good TeleComm Package" for the Atari St. Currently I am Using FLASH by Antic, but I get all sorts of problems when I try to run GNU Emacs on the University's VAX. At present I think that either I've not "Set Env" on my Unix Account so that it knows how to talk to my ST, or that this is a limitation in the software I am running. I am new to both sets of problems...so I may be jumping the gun. Any assistance that can be offered, or suggestions on alternative routes to a solution will be helpful. I have Mark Williams "C" and so I in theory there should be a way to get things done, as that has a Micro-Emacs editor in it. The Reasoning for all of his is that My Proffessors wish us to learn how to use EMACS, but to stay on Campus means leaving my son at a sitters. So I'd prefer to work at home, dodging the occasional Teddy Bear, than not be with my son at all.... Basically the problem as I see it is that I lose control of the Cursor for incoming data, but that everything that I type goes into the File and is saved and all...I just do not know what I am typing until I Cat the file later on. thanking you in advance.

I use FLASH to call the UNIX machines at work and am able to use emacs and vi by telling the unix system I am using a 'vt100'. FLASH must be set to ansi mode (<INSERT> mo an <RETURN>). The unix command depends on what shell you are using. Bob Waltenspiel
