Previous requests for help have worked, so here I go again. I've been playing with uupc for the ST, and have been hindered by an inability to set the level of debug output from the command line. What happens is that whenever I try to use the message printing function (which writes both to the screen and to a disk file) between the time the modem is initializes and the time the connection to the other machine is made, it interferes with the operation of the modem. Stuff like wrong numbers and resetting speeds that were already set. I have checked fairly close to the place where strings are sent to the modem; they seem to be correct, so I suspect TOS (sorry fellas at Atari: maybe with 1.4 we'll learn NOT to suspect TOS when strange things happen). Any possibility that disk or screen writes could send garbage to the serial port in 1985 TOS? Thanks to all who even think of helping Steve J.
