Twolf@nomxb.ATT.COM multiplied the screen resolution by the number of
maximum colors available on the ST. Why does that have ANYTHING to do with
the max. colors? Maximum colors is dependent on hardware, and only hardware.
Quantum Paint uses virtual colors(dithering).

The sender of message #13678 asked why there weren't any Atari software.
If you bought the Atari ST for its software, you shouldn't have. You have
to buy the ST on its own merits, and then go look for software. If you
aren't that loyal to the ST, then do what every brainwashed conformist
does: buy an IBM. An example of what a true Atarian is is ry04@dkauni148.
This guy is from W. Germany and is, I assume, the only ST owner around his
parts. He sends messages to the NET to find "ST penpals". He looks for
ways to improve his ST. Now that's an Atarian. (Note: my advice for
him is not to look here in the US. The bulk of the ST community is in W.
Germany) Not all ST users should be patriotic loyalists dedicated to the
soul of the Atari, but at least be active. If not, take off those t-shirt
and jeans and put on your pin-stripped suit and buy an IBM.

Someone back there asked if an Atarian is paranoid. Yes, we are PARANOID.
We've got to defend ourselves with cries of "game machine" everywhere, so
why shouldn't we be paranoid? Russia was attacked by Napolean, and again
by Hitler. That's why they were so insistent on having buffer communists
states to prevent such attacks. Same for Atarians.

Last: please read some messages before you post. The question or answer
may have been posted already. (I've had enough of 'Re: something BBS')

Warning: The above is very subjective, and is the opinion of a true
Atarian dedicated to the Hacker Ethic in its purest form. (Meaning: No
piracy)
