I just got my Pagestream 1.5 upgrade. SoftLogik still doesn't seem to
have its act together, but maybe some of you with access to Genie and
the other news lines might have some news to post. This one at least
comes with a driver for my C. Itoh 8510 ProWriter, but the printed fonts
are too large (this is an erratic problem, every time I try to print I
get a different result, none good). Every so often the program crashes,
usually with two bombs, sometimes with 3, and it freezes the mouse so
that I have to reboot. I've tried without my TSR's, although now I've
put IDLE (Braner's screen blanker) back to work.
Promising features are programs to convert old documents (tested) and
fonts (untested by me as yet). If you can get PageStream to work you
can use your old documents.
Anyone have any experience with this? I haven't decided whether to keep
banging my head against the wall or whether to toss the whole package.

I have had Publishing Partner for about two years. In that time SoftLogik has managed to release gobs of new versions of their program but has yet to fix the bugs in the original version. The only reason we bought the Atari was to run PP (now PageStream). At my current level of frustration I have started reading the Amiga group. Looks like there is software for the Amiga that works ... -- Phil Hughes, SSC, Inc. P.O. Box 55549, Seattle, WA 98155 (206)FOR-UNIX uw-beaver!tikal!ssc!fyl or uunet!pilchuck!ssc!fyl or attmail!ssc!fyl
