A friend has been using MWC's msh shell for some time and has just encountered an odd problem. Anything sent to 'stderr' disappears, making certain programs difficult to run for lack of diagnostics. Opening a file to "con:" still works, as does 'stdout', but 'stderr' is gone. Even redirecting 'stderr' (via >&) doesn't work ... the file is created but nothing is written to it. I also have msh but have never had such a problem, so I can't help. HINT: the problem seems to have appeared when he installed Minix-ST on his hard drive. But disconnecting everything (except Magic Sac cart. which was never a problem before) and booting from floppy doesn't seem to help. Does anyone know what is going on here? Thanks. -- Me: Scott Flinn / "If it doesn't fit, force it. Domain: wsflinn@violet.waterloo.edu / If it breaks, then it didn't UUCP: watmath!violet!wsflinn / fit anyway."
