[comp.sys.atari.st] Laser C Installation

silvert@dalcs.UUCP (Bill Silvert) (01/31/89)

I recently posted a query about installing Laser C on a hard disk and
got some useful advice, but nothing quite correct -- but with the info
given I solved the problem, and here is how to do it:

When you first run LASER.PRG you have to have the system disk in drive A
to load the RAM-resident programs. Go to the "Tool Locate.." item on
the Options menu and remove both files on the right -- then add them
right back again! The screen looks just the same as it did before, but
now Laser C remembers to load them from your hard drive rather than from
A. Save the configuration (also on the options menu) and your all set.
The confusing part is that "Tool Locate.." shows what you have loaded,
but not the paths used -- just setting the correct paths in the
environment section doesn't work.

Thanks to Barry Comer, Rana Dutt, and Rainer Klute for help.
