Does anybody know what is the latest version of the diagnostic cartridge
for the Atari ST? The one the technician of our local service centre has
cannot be used on the MEGA ST series; an error message with the
background turned red appears when the system is boot up with the
diagnostic cartridge.
Now some news...I have already seen the 1 megabit chip being used in the
latest 1040STf set...most of the chips are surface mounted except for
the ROM; it is socketed.

I don't know what the latest verion is, but there has been a version of the diagnostic cart for the Mega line for a long time now. That service center should get on the ball and contact Service center support @ Atari to get the latest rev of the cart plus any other materials that may have been re-vamped since they last contacted Atari.
